Green Juice, Glorious Green Juice!!!

Green Juice, Glorious Green Juice!!! Here is a picture of my fridge with all the green juices for my family for the next few days.  Even though it took a chunk of time to make all these it has made it simple to just grab juice and serve it to my kids.  The little ones are for my kids and the bigger ones are for myself and hubby.  Making juice like this ensured that we just drink more greens during the day.  These were made using a special juicer which help to retain the live enzymes so that I could make the juice ahead of time and store.  It was an investment but money well spent. Unfortunately I am ending my Juice Detox today.  It’s only been a week and I have decided to end my juice detox.  The detox itself has been a success thus far and it has not really been hard being on it.  However, I am cold all the time and I feel like it is too hard on my body to be this clean and extreme while the weather is like this.  I do somewhat feel like I’m letting myself down but I know what my body is telling me. When you do a detox your body is not really ready for it can do more harm then good. Don’t worry I’m not completely giving up.  I am just changing it a bit to meet my needs. I am going to continue to juice everyday during the day but add in a bit of cooked veggies and a few ancient grains.  This will allow me to make some warm soups and eat with my family when they are home.  I think a slower detoxification will work better for my body then a complete juice detox. I do have to give myself a high five for at least doing the juice detox for one week.  I will have to build upon this and do one a gain for a bit longer next time.  Since it has been so long since I’ve done something like this I don’t think my body is ready to take on such a challenge.   Benefits I have received from 7 days of Juicing: Decreased cravings for sugar More restful sleep and less tired in the morning Weight loss (don’t know how much I didn’t weight myself but my pants fit better) Decrease in inflammation (I can tell in my face, hands and feet) So although I have failed at doing a juice detox for 21 days I have succeeded in at least giving my body a kickstart.
